Oh, I've not heard them called fiddlenecks before, but I can see it. Also known as blue tansy or phacelia, I love growing them as a "green manure" & pollinator attractor in my vegetable garden - straightforward to save seeds each year too! Saw a field in Oxfordshire today myself, gorgeous.

How many of the people in this photograph are still known by name?

We’re reflecting on the roots of Pride: as a protest.

When hate is on the rise, and attempts are being made to erase us from existence, we call on allies this Pride month to stand with us. And we will continue fighting for our liberation: there is no environmental justice without social justice.

The only way to fight back against the far right is to reject bigotry and offer the real solutions to people's problems.

The Green Party needs to be that force, so Ekua Bayunu and I are standing together to be the party’s Equality and Diversity Coordinators.

Global Majority Greens Statement on Keir Starmer’s Immigration Speech

The Global Majority Greens find the Prime Minister’s racist immigration speech made on Monday to be an example of a government that is deflecting from its own incompetence in managing the country’s economy.

He said, β€œwe risk becoming an island of strangers. Not a nation that walks forward together”.

It is migration that has helped make this country a success, especially after World War II.Β

How quickly the Government forgets…The 1948 Nationality Act gave British Citizenship to all members of the British Empire and their descendants who were invited to the UK to help rebuild the Nation, and we did.

Many of us in the Green Party are descended from people who came to the UK from India, Nigeria, Jamaica, Pakistan, St Kitts, Australia, Kenya, Malaysia, Germany, Trinidad & Tobago, Somalia (and more!). Some of us migrated here.

The Prime Minister’s statement that β€œwe risk becoming an island of strangers, not a nation that walks forward together” is not only wrong. It is dangerous and divisive - inviting racist abuse towards those of us living here.Β

That's why you can't just jump into it carrying the same assumptions and toxic ways of relating as the majority of our culture. At bare minimum this requires some basic familiarity with liberation movements past and present and a cursory analysis of the power structures that underscore our culture.

It's concerning that so many people think resistance is some sort of club or fandom that you simply need to identify with in order to be included . But it's actually a set of actions and relationships that carry a whole lot of responsibility, including the responsibility to unlearn and relearn.

Today we showed up at Serco’s AGM to engage with shareholders and share an important message from someone subjected to 24/7 GPS tagging.

It’s time for Serco and its insurer Aviva to stop profiteering from the abuse of people on the moveβ€” until then, we’ll keep turning up the pressure. ✊🏽πŸ”₯

In the last few decades, we have
detected thousands of planets outside
of our solar system. They did not
suddenly appear at the time we found
them. No one calls it an "exoplanet
epidemic". The planets were always
there, just previously undiscovered
This is a tweet about autism.

American corporations didn’t want to diversify, anyway After the murder of George Floyd, many companies turned to diversity initiatives that weren’t actually designed to bring change. That’s why they’re dropping them as quickly as they created them

I’m not going to tell people how to feel about protests… at least not today.

Instead, I’ll recommend Sarah Schulman’s book about ACT UP. It’s not just a history of the organization; she also talks strategy in a very practical way, especially regard coalitions.

Even without ICE's horrible abuses, a pattern of arbitrarily revoking student visas makes the US no longer a viable schooling option for international students.

Bringing them to the US has been one of our strongest sources of soft power.

Everything this fucking guy does benefits Putin.

Gaza enters longest stretch without aid as Israel continues airstrikes β€œThis is Abdullah, 14 years old, and this is Najwa, just two years old,” one man said in anguish as he introduced his dead relatives.Β β€œThe world celebrates the birthdays of its children, and we celebrate their deaths.”

No food or supplies have entered Gaza in over three weeks, the United Nations Agency for Palestinian Refugees says, making it the longest stretch without aid entering the enclave.

Do people realize how many Black women ended up broke after sacrificing so much for the civil rights movement?

We don't make a coin from any of it. We go broke. We die broke. Y'all write about it and make millions.

We can no longer be bullied into sacrifice we cannot afford.

Just found out NIH has officially canceled our grant, a longitudinal study of Alzheimer's disease in Black Americans. I cannot even put into words how angry I am. The truth is they are canceling it because it has Black in the title. That's it, there is no other reason to do this.
