I say that as someone who witnessed in person Jacob deGrom’s 2-hit, 15 strikeouts complete game in 2021. 8,000 people in a 20% capacity COVID-careful crowd; by the last couple innings, it sounded like every seat was filled. Magical, and that’s what happens when the pitchers get the opportunity.

Started pretty strong, but it fizzled too soon. And I always held out hope that Ellen Foley or Karen Austin would show up, possibly as Abby’s mother.

It could be such a subtly self-aware show at times, even doing a really amusing on-air cast change for one of the sons.

And the mostly CBS/Viacom-related TV show cameos (TPIR, Big Brother, Blues Clues, and the Wiggles) never felt shoehorned in, but appropriately weird.

I was a pretty regular watcher from season 1, and I still can quote it. I think it actually has a pretty good (if inevitable) full-circle conclusion.

What started me watching was seeing Mike O’Malley, whom I remembered from Guts and (a particular favorite) Get the Picture.
