Honestly Ubuntu has fallen off hard in the last several years. The best equivalent would be Mint Cinnamon these days, but it's an amount of work getting game stuff working pleasantly on it (though there are plenty of motivated people doing so and writing guides to do it.)

I cannot speak to the Adobe alternative side of things, unfortunately, however I switched late last year to CachyOS and have had a *great* time with it.

Excellent documentation, easy to use, and every game I've cared to play on it Just Works.

The only nvidia driver issue I've had hit Windows too.

I haven't caught up on the latest since I need to play more myself, but from what I have seen, I'll be surprised if she runs into a puzzle she hates more than precisely that scarecrow puzzle.

Is the Product Updates page accurate for this keyboard? Right now the progress bar is entirely empty and the keyboards aren't even listed as ordered. I don't see how they can still be expected to be delivered in 2025 when the order process has not yet begun, let alone production.

The way keyboards have been going you're honestly probably better off getting a separate wrist rest if you need one. I don't see many new keyboards with one attached these days.

Given your requirements and zero interest in doing any building of your own, keychrons are going to be genuinely great choices.

The only caveat I have re keychron is that their support is famously wretched. If possible, it's better to buy their keyboards somewhere other than keychron's own site.
