For those who have trouble writing MML: I have added a MIDI to MML converter (for ctrmml, MDSDRV etc) here: github.com/superctr/ctr...

It can be extended with custom handlers for adding custom MML data for control change events, etc.

The Sega Channel adapter is now emulated! This uses the very same data packets that were broadcast in September 1996 and preserved on a transmission disc that was recently dumped.

Currently it lives in my MAME branch. I'll try to clean up the packet loading and then hopefully get it merged.

It's a bit like getting upset at someone who made music on a computer instead of on "real instruments".

The equivalent of "AI slop" back then would be to take the demo songs or preset patterns/samples and pass them off as your own. I think there's a middle ground.

I really don't understand this AI hate. I won't get upset about individuals using AI technology for creative or practical purposes. I think what's much worse is when corporations use AI as an excuse to layoff thousands and increase the workload on the remaining staff instead.

Dear Google (and everyone else who keep pushing new UI updates and "rebrands" constantly) can you please stop treating the user interface as seasonal fashion?

Even better, can you do what Microsoft did in the 90s and design said user interfaces based on actual studies rather than "vibes"?

I deleted my Soundcloud. Gen AI is nice and all but I do not consent to training models, especially proprietary ones on my content. Simple as that.

I have used various 12-14B models like Gemma 3 and Qwen 2.5 but just now Qwen 3 came out with a 30B MoE. I haven't had the time to test it extensively yet but it might be my new favorite.

It's crazy how fast AI has developed over the last few _weeks_. It's now possible to run LLMs that would have been considered state of the art a year ago on a single gaming PC, which doesn't even have the latest components.
