The Prize of the Historische Kolleg 2025 goes to the renowned Islamic scholar Prof. Dr. Gudrun Krämer for her work "Der Architekt des Islamismus. Hasan Al-Banna und die Muslimbrüder. Eine Biographie", which was published by C.H.Beck in 2022. Our warmest congratulations!

In her evening lecture yesterday, our fellow 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘀 (@uniregensburg.bsky.social) discussed the significance of rosaries in the context of European expansion.

Small, portable objects of the Christian faith were literally indispensable for the mobilization and worldwide formation of early modern Catholicism. Our Fellow 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘀 ( @uniregensburg.bsky.social‬ ) will speak on Monday, June 23 about 𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 in particular.

Heute Abend haben sie ihr gemeinsames Buch in dem Taschenbuchladen in Augsburg präsentiert.

𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗶 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗼𝘃, Honorary Fellow 2022/23, und 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗶𝗮 𝗞𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗸𝗼-𝗩𝘂𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘂𝗸 haben diese Anthologie nun erstmals und zweisprachig herausgegeben: 𝗗𝗶𝗰𝗵𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗺𝘁𝗲𝗻. 𝗘𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲 𝘂𝗸𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝗰𝗵𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗴.

Der Deutsch-Ukrainer 𝗢𝘀𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗱 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘁 alias Jurij Klen gehörte in der Epoche nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg zu einem Dichterkreis, der sich dem klassischen europäischen Erbe verpflichtete. Mit seiner Anthologie wollte er seinen Weggefährten ein Denkmal setzen.

Spannendes und sehr lesenswertes Interview mit Karl Siebengartner, der lange Zeit am Historischen Kolleg gearbeitet hat.

Das @ifofficiel.bsky.social in München direkt neben der Kaulbach-Villa liegt, hatte 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗸𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗲𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗸𝗲 gestern keinen weiten Weg, als er das Historische Kolleg besuchte. Mit Geschäftsführer 𝗗𝗿. 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗼𝘀 𝗔𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗼 𝗛𝗮𝗮𝘀 sprach er über mögliche Kooperationen. Der Gegenbesuch folgt in Kürze.

Ausgehend von diesen Lebensgeschichten hat Mark Häberlein (@uni-bamberg.de) in seinem Abendvortrag die Bedeutung der Faktoren Religion, interkulturelle Beziehungen und Ökonomie für die transatlantische Beziehungsgeschichte zwischen dem deutschsprachigen Raum und Nordamerika im 18. Jahrhundert.

Der Bäcker Conrad Beissel wanderte nach Amerika aus, um die mystische Vereinigung mit Gott zu suchen. Der Jurist Christian Gottlieb Priber ging in die Neue Welt, um das Paradies auf Erden zu errichten; und der Kaufmann Peter Hasenclever wollte dort eine geniale unternehmerische Idee verwirklichen.

"Die nordamericanischen Colonisten sind zwar von europäischer Abkunft, allein man muß solche überhaupt doch als eine andere Art Menschen betrachten. Der größte Theil von ihnen gieng als Avanturiers nach Amrica, um den Glücksstand zu verbessern." (Peter Hasenclever, Bemerkungen über America)

Spannende Podiumsdiskussion, die im Rahmen des Programms der @stadt.muenchen.de zur Stunde Null (1945 - 2025) und der Walking Tour Amerika in München stattfindet. Panelist Jim Sampson war Redakteur beim Sender AFN, der seinen Sitz - wie das Historische Kolleg heute - in der Kaulbach-Villa hatte.

She will provide insights into her research project, which she is working on at the college as a scholarship holder of @chbeckliteratur.bsky.social 𝗞𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗴, and describe specific reciprocal processes of identity formation between Muslims and Christians.
