I love the beginning of the book where she details the daily life and work of her homesteader parents. It’s absolutely fascinating especially when compared to how most people live today with nearly everything available to us at the click of a button.

When my grandmother was a child during the Great Depression her father died leaving them in deep poverty. My great grandmother would make egg soup for her 5 young children so they could all have a little bit of the eggs that were available. I think about that every time I see the price of eggs.

The new principal at my daughters’ school is a dude with a podcast who hasn’t actually principaled in 20 years. I’m genuinely not sure how I feel about that. Mostly I’m wondering when he last was around 3000 teenagers and if he’s prepared for that reality. 😵‍💫

Just finished Carrie Soto is Back. I really loved this book. The MC is so very flawed you can’t help but root for her to change. TJR is a such skilled story-teller.

The Midnight Library… just reached the midpoint. Reading it old-school style with a hard copy. 🤩

Start with Part A (hospital coverage). Then, medication coverage with better pricing negotiations by CMS. Then, expand Part B gradually, first for chronic conditions and then well care to phase out 3rd party payors except in certain circumstances (like travel and any other gap coverage).
