I love the beginning of the book where she details the daily life and work of her homesteader parents. Itโs absolutely fascinating especially when compared to how most people live today with nearly everything available to us at the click of a button.

When my grandmother was a child during the Great Depression her father died leaving them in deep poverty. My great grandmother would make egg soup for her 5 young children so they could all have a little bit of the eggs that were available. I think about that every time I see the price of eggs.

Last night I dreamed I was watching that awful HBO/Max show โThe Regimeโ and couldnโt get the channel to change.
Canโt imagine what that was aboutโฆ ๐ค

The new principal at my daughtersโ school is a dude with a podcast who hasnโt actually principaled in 20 years. Iโm genuinely not sure how I feel about that. Mostly Iโm wondering when he last was around 3000 teenagers and if heโs prepared for that reality. ๐ตโ๐ซ
Iโm just glad sheโs a senior!
@carolekingofficial.bsky.social Tapestry is my all time favorite album, my first love, really. My mother had it on 8-track. It is the soundtrack of my childhood. I listened to it until the tape broke when I was 17. It was the very first CD I bought. And now my 17 year old loves it too. ๐

The Midnight Libraryโฆ just reached the midpoint. Reading it old-school style with a hard copy. ๐คฉ

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and Iโ
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Iโll go first, Bridget Jonesโs Diary by Helen Fielding.

Start with Part A (hospital coverage). Then, medication coverage with better pricing negotiations by CMS. Then, expand Part B gradually, first for chronic conditions and then well care to phase out 3rd party payors except in certain circumstances (like travel and any other gap coverage).
