A real question here… in 1971, in the wake of actions by a certain Lt Calley we were admonished, that we were to only follow lawful orders. None of us had access to a JAG officer for advice, and I wonder if the same rule applies to the military in this case.

So perfect. Here is my dad, the son of immigrants, in North Africa in 1942. He was always very quiet about his wartime experiences. I wish I could talk to him now.
