I grew up in rural almost East TX and graduated in 1984. Our 8th grade history class was taught by a HS Football Coach. He called it the Tulsa Race Riot and explained how “the blacks” burned their own town down.

My youngest is volunteering with the veterinary staff and zoologists at the Dallas Zoo while working on earning a BS in Biology (focusing on wildlife and conservation) at UNT Dallas and an AAS in Veterinary Technology from Dallas College.

My youngest turned 19 today. Last week I got a request for a vegan BAKED chocolate “cheesecake” topped with vegan ganache. Baked it last night & let it rest in the fridge for 12 hrs. 19 y/o decorated it w/chocolate covered freeze dried raspberries, dark chocolate shaving and 4 fresh raspberries.

How many evil clowns do you know? All of the clowns I volunteer at Children and Veteran events are compassionate decent humans.

I live deep in the heart of rural Texas aka Trumpland. I too am seeing less and less Trump flags on houses and properties that have had them flying continuously for the past 10 years.

I too, loved every single bit of our life together. The hurt from his loss hasn’t gotten any smaller, I just carry it better most days now. Today isn’t one of those days though.

5 years ago today, the day after the state of Texas went into lockdown, COVID took my hubby, David from me. Our youngest was 13 and will graduate high school with honors in May. He should be here to see that! A few hours before he died, he told me, “I love our life, every single bit of it.”

1) The job you were told couldn’t be done remotely, can be done remotely.

2) Many disabled workers could have been working from home, but corporations just didn’t want them to.

3) Internet is a utility and not a luxury.

4) Universal healthcare is a necessity.
