No worries, you'll have to post about yours when it's ready too. :D
13.08.2025 18:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's sitting at 2nd draft right now. Probably a Halloween release, but I will definitely post about it on here when it hits announcement time. π
13.08.2025 18:43 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Double twist: Death is only the beginning...of writer's block!
13.08.2025 18:40 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0I'm the same way. Even when I write in other genres, horror always finds its way in.
13.08.2025 18:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I mean, if I was a #multi-billionaire with many pet #velociraptors, I guess I wouldn't NEED to write #horror anymore (at least not for money). But I probably would still WANT to write horror. #horrorwriterschat
13.08.2025 18:30 β π 12 π 5 π¬ 1 π 0That would be the dream, though. You don't need to write about monsters if you can make them! I wasn't expecting Jurassic Park to be the answer, but I think you nailed it. π
13.08.2025 18:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That does sound pretty good...could always write fantasy, I guess. :/

Tough one, writing horror has been a part of me since I was a little kid. I guess I could give it up for some incredibly positive global movement/change.
Or I suppose if I fell into some tragic/ironic curse scenario.
Sadly, I couldn't find a GIF from the Futurama bit. :(
Hi, #Horrorwriterschat!
I'm JL, and I write spooky books for tweens!
The most usual place to find horror inspiration? I'd say middle school, but they're pretty scary!
Hello, #HorrorWritersChat, I am a sad monster what writes disturbed fictions and my most unusual source of inspiration was my own creaking bones, I think.
13.08.2025 18:16 β π 9 π 6 π¬ 0 π 0Hi. Iβm Ian. Iβm writing Barbatachtian 7. I found inspiration in a bus stop in my twenties, I was very drunk. #HorrorWritersChat Q1

Question 1:
J.D. Buffington here. Learning that the Appalachian mountains are part of one range that broke apart from Pangea, and that the Scottish Highlands are part of the same range, I wondered, βWhat if something had a tunnel?β Then I learned about Erdstallsβ¦

Hello! Karen here. Scandinavian, author of various fantasy novels and horror short stories.
I guess my most unusual source of inspiration has been my garden π
Dirt You Shall Become was crafted out of the frustration of gardening and spookiness of mulch and bugs.
#HorrorWritersChat Question 1: Progressive nerd writing nostalgic horror. And I once wrote a creepypasta based around my study sessions in college.
13.08.2025 18:19 β π 11 π 5 π¬ 1 π 0Hi everyone. I'm Tom Coombe, author of short, weird horror stories mostly set in eastern Pennsylvania. My most unusual bit of inspiration came from this scene on the Simpsons.

Sup, #HorrorWritersChat it's Yanni back with another week of fun. I write horror of all types and shapes, and sometimes the voices in my head let's me get a little dirty.
Most of my inspiration for horror comes from the messed up dreams I have, but once I got an idea in a laundromat.
I'm Amber, a horror and dark fiction writer from central Maine. I write all kinds of horror, most with cults or ghosts. Current WIP takes inspiration from my time as a library kid and my teenage babysitting gig, but I feel like that's pretty standard story fodder.

My name is Martin Shannon and I'm a rare book author. I write word-processor-to-shelf, artisanal, non-GMO, organic dark fantasy and horror imaginings.
Most unusual place for inspiration? Watching my fingers melt to the top of a fiery toaster...

Hello! I'm Rebecca Cantrell and I write a lot of dark things--mysteries, thrillers, and horror. I try to write bright happy things sometimes and it always goes dark. I found inspiration for a chapter in BLOOD INFERNAL at a cheery Christmas market in Berlin. It got dark. Hmmm... #horrorwriterschat
13.08.2025 18:04 β π 17 π 9 π¬ 3 π 0Big time gloopy. Weirdly though, they reminded me of globsters...I can't stop writing about ocean monsters.
13.08.2025 18:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Hi. I'm Anna. I mostly write cosmic and eco-horror. I once wrote a story based on a very depressing fusion cuisine all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant in Wimbledon. #HorrorWritersChat

Q1: Hello. Iβm WakahisaSensei. I usually write philosophical fiction with elements of horror/sci-fi/fantasy. I do have two horror side projects though.
Most unusual place Iβve found for horror inspiration? Works that totally lack horror, and imagining how theyβd respond to-
I hear that one! I also have a fast-food WIP.
13.08.2025 18:12 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Hoi! I am J. Neira, cozy horror author, rural Minnesotan hicklib, & slush reader for Graveside Press!
The most unusual place I found inspiration for a horror work might me in fast-food places? They're not usually associated with horror, but I write a lot of fast-food horror.

Heyhey #HorrorWritersChat! I'm Emma, I write paranormal horror and the most unusual place I got inspiration from for a horror work was a carpark. Struggled all day with writing - read horror, watched horror, nothing. Went out for a day to eat ice cream, walked back to the car, and it just hit me.
13.08.2025 18:06 β π 17 π 10 π¬ 3 π 0I played the hell out of Warhammer: Total War, and I really get it. It's so easy to get lost in the narratives that emerge from games like that.
13.08.2025 18:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Hello! I am Matt, pen name MG Mason and I write mixed genre fantasy and horror.
I once had a flash of inspiration for a ghost story set during the Anglo-Saxon invasions while playing Rome: Total War. The WIP is little more than three sentences of ideas right now though.
