Kosmos-428-SA has most likely reentered by now. Have not heard any reports of observations. Space Force will at some point issue a reentry estimate - nothing yet.

Yes. FL too short for planets. Maybe slightly good for moon and sun. but mainly for wide angle and deepsky. It’s more similar to a DSLR with lens. I got this mainly for portability. getting lazy to drag full AP gear 🀭

a picture of the earth and an asteroid with the national geographic logo Alt: a picture of the earth and an asteroid heading towards it

The chance of asteroid 2024 YR4 hitting out planet in 2032 is now 1.5%, or 1 in 67.

The OVERWHELMING likelihood is that the asteroid will miss Earth.

But for the first time ever, we might have to seriously consider a deflection mission soon.

Let me explain. 🧡 (1/x)

Pew, pew! β˜€οΈThe solar wind pours out from the Sun all the time, sending potentially dangerous particles in our direction.
But how does it get launched from the Sun in the first place? Thanks to @ESASolarOrbiter, we now have a surprising answer πŸ‘‰ www.esa.int/ESA_Multimed...
