Did you know that some of #AnnWalker’s relatives are buried in Halifax Minster?

Check out our new article, learn more about them, and find out where their graves are located within the church!

Buxton Opera House last night.

I do like Buxton!

Exactly.
I said β€œordinary people” - not β€œordinary landlords”, as you implied (I spotted where you out your quotation marks). The article was also about a chancellor and MP - I used β€œordinary” to refer to people who are not such.
Anyway, I’m sure we both have better things to do.

🀷 I didn’t say β€œordinary landlords”

β€œOrdinary” members of the public have to do it for themselves, get it right, etc without a team of people doing it for them - or be prosecuted or fined, apparently.

A teal background with text that reads: What should you do with your old pumpkins? There is a colourful row of different sized pumpkins and squashes. Under this there is a T shaped line, on the left there are 3 green circles with a tick in them: Compost at home, make a soup, stew or nourishing hair mash, dispose of in appropriate waste bin. On the right are 3 circles with a cross in them, they read: Don't leave in woodland, park or nature reserves, don't leave on your garden floor, don't leave as food for wildlife. In a bright orange box at the bottom text reads: Pumpkins can seriously harm & kill wildlife like hedgehogs

Here are our top tips for using old pumpkins:
βœ… Make a soup, stew or nourishing hair mask
βœ… Add to your compost heap
βœ… Dispose of them in the appropriate waste bin

Please share. πŸŽƒ Remember, pumpkins can harm or even kill our native wildlife. ⚠️

Ah - happy times: pre-Covid; we’d had the wonderful Gentleman Jack earlier in the year; and it was my first (of several now, always so enjoyable in various ways) to Halifax and specifically Shibden Hall πŸ₯°!

The world's deadliest wind farm for birds must be stopped.‼️

We need clean energy, but not like this.

The title reads 'Pumpkin Dos & Don’ts'. A light-hearted illustrated poster split into two columns with a "Do" section on the left and a "Don't" section on the right. In the "Do" section: three green checkmarks highlight turning pumpkins into bird feeders, keeping them high to avoid foraging Hedgehogs, and composting leftovers to avoid harming wildlife. The "Don't" section features three red crosses, advising against leaving pumpkins on the ground (Hedgehogs might eat them), letting pumpkins rot (it harms wildlife), and wasting pumpkins …encouraging instead to make tasty recipes or bird treats. A cartoon Hedgehog and pumpkin smile from the bottom of the poster, adding a fun and informative feel.

Psst! Pumpkins are a treat for birds but can be harmful to hedgehogs. πŸ¦”βŒ

Keep them high up out of reach and compost any leftovers to protect our garden wildlife.

An orange poster with the warning β€œBeware! Fake Webs = Real Risks for Wildlife” written at the top in bold, accompanied by a small, friendly-looking spider hanging from a web. The text explains that fake web decorations can trap and harm birds, small mammals, and even toads. A cartoon owl and spider deliver the message, with the spider humorously saying, β€œThis is all natural!” in front of its web, and the owl encouraging people to avoid fake webbing for a spooky yet wildlife-friendly Halloween. The overall tone is playful but highlights an important caution for Halloween decorating.

It’s spooky season, but let’s not make it scary for wildlife! πŸŽƒπŸ‘»

Fake web decorations can trap and injure our garden wildlife. Stick to sustainable, indoor decorations and let real spiders do the work outdoors!
