2.5 years, and now it's done. I don't even know how to feel right now, which is odd because this is my 8th book. Maybe it's because I've never restructured to this degree before, or maybe it's that I'm so invested in this story. I guess it hasn't sunk in yet that the book is done

I want to say that if this book isn't on the shelves in bookstores at some point, I don't know that I'll ever have one make it there, but I'm confident in my ability to become a better writer and storyteller. Something will make it there. I hope it's this one because I love it.

It's good, so good, and I'm not just saying that because I wrote it. I'm my harshest critic. I don't think I've written anything before this that is a "must read", but this one is. It's sprawling, epic, heartfelt, exciting, and filled with the unexpected.

I have one chapter left in my book to revise, and then it's done. I've been working on this book for 2+ years. The final draft is nothing like the first draft (a first for me). I really believe in this book; this series is my legacy, so to speak, the thing I'll leave in this world when I'm gone.

Since I’ve been editing and revising my WIP for about a year, I haven’t actually written much. Today I added a new (needed) scene to the book, and it feels so good to have written something from scratch again. That feeling is so unique and exhilarating!

You’re right! I’m just falling into imposter syndrome, I think.

The first draft has been done, though. I’m working on the final revision, but with changes and moving stuff around over the drafts, I need a few new scenes to smooth things out.

I’ve been working on my current book for 2+ years now. Final draft is almost done, but I need to write 3 new scenes, and I’m so nervous about writing them.

What if they’re not good or they do work as intended?

My starting point is usually a scene (ending or beginning) or a specific character.

From there, I develop my characters and their world simultaneously, so the world-building serves the characters at first.

Then, I expand the world-building more as I develop the story.
