I view the people who voted for him as 'good Germans' After the first 4 years they knew what was coming. They decided sacrificing peoples lives was an acceptable trade to make.
If they want me to accept them back into society they need to make active steps to restore the damage they have done.

I agree that's the major reason it's pushed as 'insecure'.
That said I do think that for less savvy users, they often get frustrated with the inherent security and wind up opening vectors without realizing it.

Part of the issue is that the Dems have such a large tent that they tend to eat their own. There is no way that anyone can appeal to the broad base that they have without alienating other parts.
