I also think many people want the feel good dopamine hit of donating to a GoFundMe or making blessing bags or whatever, but they don't want tax money to fund the same things even though taxes could do it more efficiently by orders of magnitude. A lot of people are very selfish!

That's exactly what Ive been thinking seeing all the money people have donated. Wow imagine if we could all just donate like $40 a year and not have this problem! But alas I think the people donating are the people who are happy to have their taxes fund SNAP.

It really is an awful system and I can't believe it is the norm.

We have incurred overdraft fees more than once because J's old company took so long to reimburse thousands of dollars in business travel expenses.

It is WILD even if they pay fairly. If you have to incur business expenses regularly, or over a certain amount, you should have access to a corporate card.

I have always hated the time change, but did not care whether we stayed on Daylight or Standard time. After taking over driving H to the bus stop this year... Standard time is the way. Yesterday she spotted Orion in our way to the bus 😩

Joel's main counter transgression is mail/papers and he has learned that I will just throw them directly in the trash, so that's solved that 😂

It drives me absolutely bananas that every night our counters end up looking like this. Back to charging my kids a dollar for every item I find left out of theirs.

I bet some of my neighbors would prefer to have a Mormon family live in my house. Fortunately for me, they don't get to decide who lives in the other houses on the block. If you don't like the people living next to you because they look different or speak a different language than you, fix yourself.

I reject the notion that we must coddle and support people who don’t want to live near people who speak other languages, and it’s not clear to me how this is significantly different than “it’s fine not to want to live next door to someone of a different ethnicity or religion.”

We can respect their dignity, while also saying we do not want them in our neighborhoods 🙃

It's actually amazing that he has thrown in for Monica, but Sharkey's campaign has been THAT gross that Republicans are campaigning against her. Monica Z is a Dem, this is a nonpartisan race but Sharkey has been using Democrat as a slur in her ads for months.

The fact that he (and the one other mayor we've had in between) endorsed her a week or two ago was already huge. Putting out a statement on mailers shows just how bad Sharkey's campaign has been. You've got Tom Dolan, a fellow Republican, campaigning against you, damn. My fingers are crossed 🤞

Got this mailer today from the longtime former mayor of the city. Damn. Sharkey is the one running the dirty MAGA campaign, Dolan is also Republican.

While we were camping this weekend I was getting really annoyed with the people next to us for playing sports radio and talking at full volume when people were trying to SLEEP and then I looked at my phone and it was 8:45pm 😂
