Would be great to see more resource and priority being applied to MH preventative support in NHS. Big and avoidable additional workload for Police in dealing with people in crisis.
I just watched this too. A hard watch but I have huge admiration for what she has overcome. Very powerful

Horrendous story of environmental vandalism.
I like the sound of that idea

01.04.2025 06:55 β π 0 π 1 π¬ 0 π 01. One of capitalismβs greatest successes is to shut down our imaginations. With the help of its favoured tools - neoliberalism and fascism - it persuades us that βthere is no alternativeβ. Our first task is to re-ignite our moral imaginations and name our alternatives. π§΅

Well worth watching.

Horrific
Great things have been accomplished by the community working together on the #Redruth Orchards Project. We now have 3 community orchards planted and an enthusiastic group of volunteers.
15.03.2025 07:54 β π 0 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Yes I agree complete rubbish argument to equate language spoken with nationality. Americans speak English after all (well sort of). Most Cornish people speak English as their 1st language and only know a few words of Cornish. Many would fiercely identify as Cornish rather than English though.
14.03.2025 08:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This strategy is urgently needed. My instinct is to say that it should involve reintroduction of native top predator species (wolves) but I can see the obvious challenges that would bring with it.

A serious case of prolonged workplace bullying left unchecked by hospital management - and utterly trivialised by this BBC headline. Comevon BBC - be better! My sympathy with the victim
I think the best thing @cornwalllive.com could do to defend its position would be to invest more in delivering proper journalism. Too often the stories on there are just reformatted Facebook posts with little or no journalistic work involved
25.02.2025 08:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Great news! @labourlewis.bsky.social's Water Bill will have its first debate on 28th March.
This is our unmissable chance to put public ownership of water back on the table.
Ask your MP to be there and back the Bill: actionnetwork.org/letters/ask-...

For a strategically critical national and social resource I would have thought the Government could legislate to enforce transfer of ownership in the public interest. Like when Railtrack became Network Rail. I guess a value would need to be determined similar to compulsory purchase orders.
24.02.2025 21:24 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'm sure many will agree with this sentiment Ed, but I'm interested in specifically what way you think UK needs to "stand up" to USA. Reciprocal tariffs are a given I think

11.02.2025 20:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0ONS report shows that net inward migration has gone through the roof since UK left the EU. Would seem that EU membership isn't a barrier to controlling net inward migration as some may claim.
