All Americans should be thanking the Texas Democrats who are leaving the state to break quorum and deny a vote on Trump's redistricting scheme. We have to do everything we can to fight back against this administration.

The labor movement is in full solidarity with this necessary quorum break!

Texas may be the beginning of this redistricting battle, but workers across this country will win the war. Sign the card: bit.ly/thankyoudems

White text on a red background reads: "As this process unfolds, we enter new territory for The Baffler but not for our industry: in unionizing, we will be joining our peers at outlets like Harpers, Jacobin, Jewish Currents, The Nation, The New Republic, The American Prospect, and New York Focus. We undertake this effort with optimism and in the spirit of consensus and solidarity."

It's not from any of her books, but from the conference where the National Writers Union was founded in 1981: “We don’t need any more writers as solitary heroes. We need a heroic writers’ movement: assertive, militant, pugnacious.”

My Democratic colleagues and I just left the state of Texas to break quorum and stop Trump’s redistricting power grab.

Trump is trying to rig the midterm elections right before our eyes. But first he’ll have to come through us.

It’s time to fight back.

President Trump & Republicans in Texas are rolling out a plan to redraw majority-minority districts and gerrymander them in their favor ahead of the midterm elections.

Tahis redrawing of our electoral maps is an attempt to disenfranchise voters and take us back to a Jim Crow America.

Top two Kerr County emergency officials say they were asleep as July 4 floods struck Their statements to state legislators marked the first time county officials have spoken publicly about what they were doing the morning of the disaster that killed more than 100 people in the county.

As a former first responder, I'm really tired of this pattern of the people in charge doing nothing, being unprepared, waiting to be told what to do. Uvalde, now this?

Among the things that the BLS produces are America’s annual union membership statistics. If that agency’s work is not trustworthy, it’s a Big Fucking Deal for the labor movement.

The “deal” that Brown made with the Trump admin is much more extreme than is being reported. It includes government oversight of course evaluations and no barrier to government interference in faculty hiring.

Greg Casar Is Organizing to Win The new chair of the Progressive Caucus wants to do for Democrats what he did for construction workers in Texas.

"We need more congressmen and -women who feel more comfortable marching into a fancy D.C. restaurant with a union than mingling inside of one with lobbyists.”

And that's why @gregcasar.bsky.social is a Working Families Party champion. prospect.org/politics/202...
