Next to each one a calculation has been written - these were answers from different students. The patterns have then been annotated to show other students’ guesses as to how they arrived at these calculations.
Taught my first #MathsToday lessons of the year! I forgot how much fun this topic is with Year 7. Today we played “guess the method from the calculation”.

The three rectangles are congruent. What fraction of the design is shaded?

as we explored the statement, ‘Any quadrilateral can be made from two triangles’ in #MathsToday
A blue triangle on top of a purple one, inside a semicircle. The side length of the purple triangle is 4.
These triangles are congruent and isosceles. What’s the area of the semicircle?

What’s your weird obsession with headlines that begin, “Here’s the 1…”? I suppose you think we only have the attention to read one piece of information before we get bored.

A photo of a poem titled, "To a student who used AI to write a paper." Now I let it fall back in the grasses. I hear you. I know this life is hard now. I know your days are precious on this earth. But what are you trying to be free of? The living? The miraculous task of it? Love is for the ones who love the work.
