Of course every bias tracker I've seen (LLM or not) is terrible about what it defines as "the center." You end up with something similar to DW-NOMINATE style metrics which find skew by votes against a party instead of the ideological content of the vote itself.

I could see something like this as a useful tool for dark money new/low info operations that are jumping into the media space. Something like:
- Earliest article
- Coverage % by topic (thinking local crime fear stoking pubs)
- Lean by topic
- Lean of publication over time (to track any shifts)

My favorite thing about James Carville is his endorsement of Michael Bennet in the 2020 Dem primary. Bennet dropped out a few weeks later after getting 6th place in Iowa and 10th place in New Hampshire.
