A mourning dove feeds under a redwood grove in Sonoma County, California.

This sweet little mourning dove came close as it foraged under the redwoods. I love the iridescent feathers at the base of its neck. Don't see these often in my 'hood, as Eurasian collared doves predominate. Taken June 2025 in #RohnertPark, #California
