What helped me (besides medication) was getting a therapist with ADD experience. There was a lot of baggage to unpack in my head (variations on “laziness is a sin”), and internalizing that ADD is a biological fact, not a character flaw, helped me a lot.

Also finding the right meds.

And when everything seems to be getting AI by force, and companies mandate that their employees use it, and products cost more for AI “features” I didn’t ask for, yeah, my pushback can look a lot like hate. And I’m not proud of it. I don’t like being that way.

And that’s not to mention the complete lack of care for anything but their bottom line. These are people who ”disrupt” industries but end up recreating them in ways that ultimately are worse.

I love ML. I think it’s incredible what can be done with it! I just don’t trust Sam Altman with anything.

I don’t hate AI.

But I have less than zero trust for pretty much every company peddling it; I think they’re promising true intelligence on an architecture that, while it got us closer, can’t get us the rest of the way there. Like building a plane and saying you’re going to the moon with it.
