Ironically, for being as difficult as this game is, the final boss was a bit of a pushover... 🤔

(I didn't get the true ending/true final boss yet so I'll most likely change my tune once I do, but still)

I think the one thing literally everyone can agree on though is fuck Bilewater. That place sucks.

Anyway video games are super cool, Silksong is a masterpiece, and Team Cherry is great for making adjustments to make the game more enjoyable for everyone. Thanks for coming to my ted talk

I feel just as strongly about accessibility in video games. They should be fun, and some people need an extra hand. I really feel like this first Silksong patch was the right move for a lot of reasons and allows the folks not in the “git gud” crowd to have fun too. The game IS STILL DIFFICULT.

I feel very strongly about meeting a piece of media where it is: not expecting it to be something it’s not, e.g. reading a romance novel & being upset there’s smut in it. I feel the same about video games, this one in particular, but I also feel that games need to meet players where they’re at.

The folks who are yelling about Team Cherry nerfing Moorwing and Sister Splinter also say that Savage Beastfly is too hard. I had such a bad time with the first two, to the point I wanted to quit the game, but I cleared the beastfly in two tries. It’s funny how that works out.

The Silksong difficulty discourse is the funniest thing to me. Different people are good at different things!! I am having the time of my life with the platforming sections but am not as good at the combat. I’m sure it’s the opposite for some people. We all have strengths/weaknesses!

After banging my head against the wall for multiple hours on multiple bosses, I gave myself permission just to watch strategy videos 😆 I'm actually pretty good at all of the platforming and other aspects of the game so I figure it evens out. Still stuck on the last Act 1 boss though haha

I constantly say that everyone in comics should cross-train. Yeah, I may be a letterer/designer, but I've done stints in almost all the other fields: coloring, editing, illustrating, writing... it makes me MUCH better at my job and at communicating.

The editorial end of this overlaps significantly but also includes (among many others):

-Once-joyful project turned nightmare due to higher-up fuckery
-Fighting for a book or license you *know* will succeed, vetoed by publisher, goes on to be wildly successful elsewhere
