City of Heroes; completely free to play, character customization that is second to none, diverse power sets, and choices you make about your build have a large impact on how the character plays—instead of cookie cutter talent trees where the meta is mathed out and everyone just takes the same stuff

It seems like the handful of people willing and able to create new assets all went with Rebirth or Thunderspy. The Homecoming appears to have programmers and writers/mission designers, but no art department.

If you play City of Heroes Homecoming, you should go see The Witch's House on Everlasting by Dacy using the basecode BOO-17189, and Mischief Manor by Ennvee on Excelsior with basecode Manor-19011. Go check out both by Halloween, or you’ll miss out for another year.

I wish Firefall would get the City of Heroes treatment—brought back from its unjust demise by players who knew its value. I cried when CoH shut down, just moments after that final dbserver disconnect. But then this new game came along, still in beta, that was tremendously fun and full of potential.

Both in multiplayer and single player games. Unless it’s done in a comedic, silly-evil way—and MMOs never go that route—I just can’t.

Thanks for your reply—so it’s not the bin files in the game folder that get edited, but rather the def files from the source folder. Those later get turned into bin files that can be used to overwrite the ones in the game folder—is that roughly the idea? I will check out CoH Thunderspy 😊

I see all the bin files that appear to have something do with that stuff, but as a non-programmer words like compiling/recompiling/binning are lost on me. I was able to get access to the git project so I think I’m closer to understanding how it all works

I was able to get some help through the Orodev discord, it was related to how you go about bringing 3d models/animation into City of Heroes. Now I’m trying to understand how you go about modifying the parameters that powers have. Like if I wanted to change Hurricane to not have repel —
