Kind of tempted to say Friday the 13th. But even though I love all the sequels, I think only big fans of slashers love the whole franchises. Many of them would be considered a miss by most people.

My answer is Scream. Totally fits the rules laid out in the thread. Has 6 canonical movies + a spin off MTV show that was actually pretty enjoyable.
It revived the basically dead slasher subgenre, introduced young audiences to the old classics and changed the whole genre.
The only miss was Scream 3

Look at the Zohran Mamdani campaign. He hit the streets and was friendly to Democratic voters. His campaign invited them to join him in improving the city and party. And it worked. A lot of liberals are hungry for change. There's never been a better time to recruit them. Why reject the opportunity?

Pointing out that they're more effective at recruiting than the left is not giving grace. It's acknowledging the reality that you have to be nice to people if you want to recruit them. If the baddies can fake it, the ostensible goodies surely can too. Or better yet, be genuinely nice.

Oh well. Some tried and it was hard. Best to just give up. That's definitely a recipe for success.

I don't know why it's hard for so many leftists to understand that a successful political movement requires recruitment and persuasion. It seems obvious to me, but so many treat leftism as an exclusive social club rather than a movement with goals towards better political outcomes.
