Al Udeid Air Base remains fully operational and capable of conducting its mission, alongside our Qatari partners, to provide security and stability in the region.” Today’s confirmation comes amidst the release of several satellite images over the last week by Iran International and the Associated Press, showing significant damage to a radome and a number of nearby buildings at Al Udeid, with the radome said to have housed a $15 million communication suite known as the Modernization Enterprise Terminal (MET).

While not directly denying an impact, U.S. officials in the days and weeks after clearly attempted to downplay the Iranian attack, likely in an effort to not disrupt the swift ceasefire between Israel and Iran that was signed almost immediately following the attack against Al Udeid. In a social media post on June 23, U.S. President Trump stated that 13 of 14 ballistic missiles were intercepted in the Iranian attack on Al Udeid, with one missile being “set free” because it was deemed not to be a threat, with this likely being the missile that struck the radome at the base. Additionally, during a press briefing at the Pentagon on June 26, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen.
