Ive been hitting ginger shots daily to stave off the bugs

I get the funding issue we definitely fell short of where we wanted to be whole school wise but a quarter of our 6th form cohort do alevel maths. I have 2 classes of 25 in each year... our school just can't say no to parents...

I saw this but it didn't work just gave me the 991cw but with s blank screen. What is it going to be, I can't deal with learning another new calc

Don't go in. You're already off. It looks better to do another day or even 2 and get properly better than to go in and kill your voice and be off the next day...
we're not superheroes the kids can survive with cover for a few days. Plus one of them probably gave you the bug... look after yourself

Like there is a reason they got a 6... it's both a lack of ability but also a complete lack of drive.
But apparently they're going to prove me wrong... they say as they walk out of their 4th missing homework detention of the year...

Like a Ukrainian who managed to get a grade 6 despite arriving 18 months ago with no English and been out of regular education for the previous year.
The others however have absorbed so much of my time not just for lack of understanding but also chasing homework and not listening...

Thanks, it's certainly something im currently battling with. We have an entry requirement of a grade 7. This year our 6th form has snuck 8 pupils with grade 6s on to boost numbers in 6th form generally. There are a few with special circumstances .

We do beat the teacher

5 counters or multilink cubes in 1 colour 5 in another.

You can take a many of one colour as you want.

You lose if you are forced to take the final cube. The kids get a sticker if they beat the teacher and a sweet.

And then we also need to think about the impact it has on the pupils with higher entry points. Supporting those students means that the higher ones might suffer we only have limited resources who do I prioritise?

I think with the final Q whilst grade 5 and 6 might be able to do A level maths and further I think we should be thinking about whether that is the right choice for them. Is a grade E going to open doors for the next step... unlikely...

They also all have a poem I got Chat GPT to write about the futility of using AI to do homework stuck in their honework books on the front cover.

This has forced my y11s who I've had since y8 to at least write down all theb working stages from AI so if they are using it at least they're writing examples down...
All their homework is now 50+ mins with videos being watched etc.

If it's Sparx then I look at how long they have taken
If they have taken 13 mins
Not written it down
Got 100% and only attempted the Questions once
Then I give them one of the questions they did in 2 secs and see if they can do it again.
If they can't then they get a detention.

Teaching Siblings
Teaching accidental siblings. (Age gaps of 10ish years)
Kids come through as trainees
Kids come through as teachers who aren't newly qualified
Teaching children of the kids were taught
They come through as trainee teachers
Teaching grandkids (get out now)

We manage to not split alevel though I know there are advantages.

Today we did some modelling using trig.
We modelled Peppas journey on my daughters ferris wheel.
Always good to have some props on hand...
We decided to ignore that fact that carriages always dangle vertically. We modelled the pin they dangle on instead.

They're a reading series designed to help you learn Latin. We used them in y7 and 8 at my school.

What no Ecce Romani?

The more I watch Educating Yorkshire the more I think 2 things:
1. Why on earth would you take part in this as a teacher? Like career wise this is potential suicide.
2. Why on earth would you agree to have your child's face in it? I feel parents need there heads wobbling.
