Personally, I found Armored Core VI to be kind of a refreshing change of pace in a lot of item descriptions. So instead of "The Ichor of the Disgraced Ur-Bishop," it's "Here's a laser bazooka. It does explosions."

But I just may like robots better than knights in general.

I'm still salty the actual AvP movies we got weren't nearly this good.

Still, decades later, I am a sucker for schlocky creature features.

Me, whenever I hear Dean Cain or Kevin Sorbo mentioned

I mean, it's just two randos talking about fantasy books on a podcast, with all that such a description implies.

They seem like decent enough guys, it's just they're apparently ignorant of big swaths of "The Genre." That this episode is about sub-genre definitions makes this a ... mixed endeavor.

Started listening to the 2 To Ramble podcast-- it's one of those "two nerdy dudes talk about books" podcasts. And it's ... okay?

Except for when they're WRONG. Like, calling Fonda Lee's Jade City steampunk? Lumping Swords & Sorcery and Arthurian Fantasy together as the same thing? Harrumph, I say!

One of my favorite things about DanDaDan is how the cast feels like actual teenagers.

Which is to say, they are dumb as rocks.

i do not think hank hill voted for trump. cartoon characters have pretty famously been disenfranchised since City of Toon Town v. Cloverleaf LLC went against them in 1952

I am, however, quite salty Legends of Tomorrow got cancelled on a cliffhanger, but at least it had a fairly good run (even if the last season was kinda janky for various COVID reasons).

Legends of Tomorrow is basically "Dr. Who, but comic book stupid." I mean this in the best possible way.

The first season takes itself too seriously, and has a lackluster villain, but after that they just lean into the goofiness.

It's also gay as hell, so bonus.

Arrow is ... okay? Even as I never finished it.

Though it was the springboard for Legends of Tomorrow, which is (after the first season), the best thing ever connected to the Arrowverse.

Trying to get a little #writing in. At the part of the story that switches gears from romantic longing to a giant robot fight.

As you do.

Aaagh. Somehow Youtube has decided I should watch videos about some guy complaining about Female Custodes and other dumb bullshit.

What made it even worse is that the guy kept on going about "my privates" which let him make a strained gag on how the other envelopes had pictures of an army private instead, but the repetition of the euphemism made his act blander yet also grosser.

At least a real carny would just say "my junk."

So I'm watching Penn & Teller's Fool Us, and, uh.

This guest magician's trick was literally "which of these envelopes contains a picture of my dick?"

And people wonder why magicians get a bad rap.
