CDA en CU hebben met hun onderhandelingen bereikt dat er 1,25 miljard wordt bezuinigd op onderwijs. Hadden ze gewoon hun poot stijf gehouden, niet onderhandeld en in de Eerste Kamer tegen gestemd, dan was die hele begroting gesneuveld en was er niet bezuinigd op onderwijs. Lekker gewerkt, CDA en CU.

Jullie gaan de begroting inclusief bezuiniging van 1.2 miljard wel steunen. Dus jij denkt wel dat het "goed" is volgens je eigen redenering. Dus de bezuinigingen zijn zeker wel van jullie.

Exact. Én het lijkt er nu op dat het voornaamste doel van de WIB is om de bezuinigingen te realiseren. Het is onverstandig (to say the least) om de inhoud van je onderwijsbeleid af te laten hangen van een min of meer arbitrair en vooraf bepaald bezuinigingsdoel. #doehetniet

To explain my sign which says “Away with WIB”: One of the worst aspects of these budget cuts is the proposal to push out 30+ thousand international students using the “Wet Internationaliseering in Balance” (WIB). This will destroy the international classroom and drive away international staff. 😤

Today, 20+thousand students and academics came together to stand against the devastating budget cuts to higher education in the Netherlands.The energy was great, and the attendees were inspiring. I’m even allowing myself to feel a tiny spark of hope.
