I am really enjoying alpine linux. Been a linux user for decades and it's always lovely to work with such a functional yet minimal distro.

Old via nas7800 didn't come with vga cable, I made do. What a nuisance.

It worked great.

The bridge on these chickenbackers is pretty bleh. Little barrels that like to shoot out if playing at all aggressively while tuned down. Mine also click up and down while playing so I'm hoping adding a drop of nail polish to each end fills that gap enough to end that.

Shiny guts

I see now what killed my compaq IA1, psu sent spike through 12v rail and popped these guys. Tempted to replace them, all caps, test, then sell as parts since the screen is mangled and I'll be using the case for another project. IA1s aren't super common but I think they're neat amd k6-2 systems.

I never ever think about it otherwise, but every once in a while the urge to listen to jimi hendrix hits super hard and I need to hear the wind cries Mary or if 6 was 9 or i feel like an anvil is on my soul. I swear he was a wizard and just didn't quite grasp his powers.

Typical, the replacement screen is also scratched. I gotta come up with a better way to pile things in a basement cabinet.

Ah dang, somehow a 286 motherboard ended up on the screen of my Compaq ia1 and scratched it bad. Good thing I've got a much more modern screen of the same size and now have no excuse not to gut the ia1 and slap in an rpi.

Probably time to change these batteries...

And if you must know they're usually around $230 but I took advantage of the wincash deal on temu and spent $370 (not including shipping) to get $210 back and so got the guitar for 160 and a ridiculous amount of other stuff free. Totally worth it, just gotta do the math and not buy obvious garbage.

I used to own a real 70s rickenbacker and I bitterly regret selling it. Especially for $50 to a girl who'd just broken up with me.

For my birthday I got another bass. Since i cant afford a real rickenbacker I got a clone off temu for $160 and rewired it like a rick 4003c64 (but mono), put Dunlop super brights on it, and it's fantastic, to me at least. Now i just need to 3d print a truss rod cover that says "chickenbwacker".

For the first time I left a floppy in my usb floppy drive while rebooting and my ryzen 7 rig tried booting from it. Fantastic.

Watching "Omega Doom". It's like they wanted to make a spaghetti western, but with the swordplay of the Japanese films the westerns were ripping off in the first place, but also post acopolyptic and robots. This actually had a lot of potential, but could be executed better. Remake candidate.

Saw an ad for "vintage cookie monster" and the pic was a closeup of the tag and it really says a lot about me that the first thing that popped in my head was that it was obviously a jacket and how much I'd love a big blue faux fur cookie monster jacket.

I will say this for the movie: it was nice hearing a jesus jones song unexpectedly. Anyone who has read my posts here will know that I must now listen to type o negative to get that sweet crossover stuck in my head.

Freejack could have been a good movie if Mick Jagger had been riding around in the champagne truck instead that big pink armored thing.

As I sit here with three shot glasses of clear liquid in front of me, one water, one vinegar, one isopropyl alcohol, I can't help but wonder how I got to this point in my life. Spoilers: it's minor electronics repair.

Mmmm... nothing says holidays like homemade yeast extract. Made from cider lees. Probably not the smell you'd expect from this pic. Certainly not one the family appreciates.
