I had 6-7 good hauls off my tomato plants this year! I’m happy with how it turned out! Last year was not great for tomatoes.

A mix of cherry tomatoes — red, orange, yellow, and a few green — gathered fresh from the garden before the frost. Proof that even the smallest fruits can brighten the darker days of fall. 🌿💛

The mini pumpkin pies in it’s cute tiny pie shells that I picked up had too much moist in its crust. I didn’t particularly enjoy the crust at all.

Some of us… okay maybe just me… I enjoy the crust part of the pie more than the pie filling. I enjoy a good crust with granulated sugar sprinkled on top. Or the gentle saltiness baked into the pie crust for savoury pies like chicken pot pie.

Today I realized that pie crust can’t be too moist. The crust must not be too dry or it crumbles like those Nature Valley granola bars. It cant be absorbing too much moistness from the pie filling. It must feel and taste like baked pastry. Too much moist and you can’t really taste the crust.
