My favourite part of the evening was being led in an old time song-along of Woody Guthrie’s hymn to freedom, “This Land Is Your Land,” (using the Canadian refrain). Tom Morello is amongst history’s greatest bards of socialism and liberation.

I would like to thank the Leduc Arts Foundry for having their summer student Gian do this painting of the grain elevator (in progress). When it is done it will hang outside on the chain link fence. It’s so great to have art in our community.

Today the City of Leduc raised the Filipino Flag at our 4th annual event to mark Filipino Independence Day. About 11% of Leduc’s population is Filipino and this annual event is always beautiful and lively. Thank you to the Filipino-Canadian Association of Leduc.
