Strong A here. Model building for me is about the joy of completion. I occasionally have multiple projects at the same time but it makes me unhappy.

Was lucky to have visited that Tamiya store back in April. Made me feel like I had completed a life long pilgrimage. The shopping experience was amazing.

Couldn’t agree more. They just keep getting better and better. The zero series is amazing. The P-51 and especially the B’s are as well. This looks to be completely next level.

That’s brilliant looking. Not an armor guy at all but, I have been tempted by that kit more than once.

Stepped away from the bench back in March. Sat down earlier this week to wrap up a couple projects. The first was this little 109. A bit heavy handed with the weathering but I still like it.

Ah. The Vallejo color looks correct-ish to every Pzkw I I’ve ever seen. Not sure I have seen a true flat brown used on an early war tank, they always appear some shade of grey.

Love the exhaust heat coloring.

Did a Quick Look and it appears that Vallejo 71.248 Brown Grey is the cross ref for RAL 7017 Dunkelbraun.

How many of the drill bits died in the process😀 I break those darn things regularly.

Herons are incredible birds. I have a white one that regularly hunts lizards in the yard. I’m glad for the help as the lizards are a nuisance.

The decks look way less cluttered up than the Iowa’s. Guess the switch to the 3” AA batteries freed up that deck space.

I built the SH 1/72 P-40N a short while back and it was a very pleasant surprise. Surface detail, canopy fit and clarity, Cartograph markings, and excellent overall fit. Have looked at some of their older offerings and they do look a bit less solid.

Japanese Tit, I think. A new bird for me. Active little fellow it remained still long enough to catch him with a 140mm on a dx camera. Really striking colors.

I have found the Mecha version of Vallejo primers to be far more durable. They don’t appear to create the skin that peels off like the regular ones. In general, more durable. Also IPA wash prior to acrylic paint is a must

Had great intentions on this one but ran out of motivation at some point. The next couple of weeks will be short on bench time but I will get back to this one in April/May. Better late than never🤷‍♂️

Sometimes I just get stuck for no reason at all. Usually it comes back after I have let it sit for a while. Things do get moved off the bench to the shelf of doom occasionally. Occasionally I go back to them. To say my motivation is variable is an understatement.

Ah, good catch. They give access to them when you buy the kit. I suspect at some point they will make them available separately.

Also, these are easier and look better than PE in most applications IMO.

A friend at the local club printed these 3D files for the Arma Hobby 1/72 scale Ki-43. Can’t tell you how much I like Arma’s approach to selling these files for a small price. Saves on shipping, turn around time and reduces the stress around breaking a part. Simply reprint.

I do most of them, yes. One thing that helps reduce the count is the application of paint in the field versus factory. Like the yellow patches. Those were likely field applied and it’s unlikely that the ground crews would have replaced stencils they had covered.

Really impressive work on that one. The field applied green is just stunning.
