The barbed wire. My phone can barely focus on it but I really like how it looks!

The Zone in all it‘s Beautiful (and depressing) glory! I think I actually got pretty close color wise 😃

And suddenly you have a completely different base!
The colors are very muted but then again so is the Zone 😝

The sign will need some heavy weathering and the wire is barely visible but I think it actually looks quite realistic 😃

Welcome to the trench crusade phase of the build where fate decides if I fuck it up or not 😂

I do not know how it will looked painted yet. Since I go for a wet swampy look I am bothered by the light sand. Makes it look too dry 😅
But I had nothing else to hand...

The basic shape is made from foam. For earth I used vms smart mud (tried it for the first time but it is really fantastic to work with)
Then sand from outside for more texture and pieces of these dried seaball things on top.

(I watched too many nightshift build videos on yt 😅)

He turned out fantastic, I love the pants especially! (Camouflage patterns is something I have not even dared to try yet 😅)

Really big 🐛 that crossed my path in the park. It has fancy fake eyes. I brought it back into the greenery

The eyes are supposed to scare of predators but I think they look rather funny.

We have bee meadows (left to nature with wild flowers) in the park for a few years now, it’s great to see that they work!

Not gonna lie I did eye the B-17 a few times, especially because I do have Decals for a Ye olde Pub + Franz Stigler bf 109 that I already have in stash.

A tiny base there is dirt and sand and some more dirt. Some rocks and a barbed wire!

Right now this looks like a mess 😂 I hope vegetation will give it form.
I like the barbed wire though! It might do 35 times less damage but it can still sting xD

Jokes aside I think the stuff is currently curing me from licking brushes... it's sweet but also kinda disgusting (I mean more disgusting then licking brushes in general 😂)

Drying retarder makes the paint really transparent and it flows like a pinwash. It also somewhat prevents hard edges. But I only used it on my current miniature. But might work for washes 🤔

I have no idea if this works on washes but I recently found this for my miniature painting. It changes the behavior of acrylics completely. Might be worth a try.
I think it’s glycerin. It tastes sweet. Don’t ask how I know.
