Back into it after a short break from the bench.
Tamiya Corsair underway while I wait for some fake show to arrive for the Panzer III.
Going to paint this up as an RNZAF Corsair from my No.2 Servicing Unit on Bouganville which is where my Grandad served.

Last thing I'm up to is working on the terrain for a snowy scene for the Panzer III

The motorbike is a stand in at the moment while I try and find a suitable model.

Still lots to do on the base here, currently it's a fairly clean road and footpath and doesn't look like various AFVs have been travelling through

It's the middle of summer here in NZ but so far all we have had is lots of liquid sunshine. It's perfect weather to sit inside and finish some projects.
Added a couple of figures to the Elefant so that is all done.
As suggested by @dr-robonator.bsky.social trying out a motorbike.

Got the itch to build something so grabbed this blitz kit from Takom. Just the tracks to go and then I can button it up and the build will be done.

Added some posters to the cafe and got the figures for the crocodile sorted ready to be painted. Have added a couple of acrylic washes but will move onto the enamels and oils now.
The base still has a blank spot which I haven't figured out what to fill it with yet.

I've had this Vallejo French Cafe knocking around in my shelf for a year or two so decided to finally do something with it. Also trying out the AK weathering pencils on the cafe. Probably gone a bit overboard with the dirt streaking pencil but I quite like them so far

Currently 3d printing myself a skadis style pegboard so I can bring some order to my work area

The Elefant is on its base.
I keep thinking the commander looks like he is trying to talk to someone on the ground so might add another figure or two at the front right.
Probably just me overthinking it and I should slap some sides on the base and call it a day.

And the martlet makes up my completed models this year.

Elefant and the Crocodile will be be finished but aren't quite there yet.

After reading a bit about these things, he was probably deaf so might be a historically accurate expression 😂

Spend the weekend paint the figures. It must have been a real sod to drive this thing as the drivers head is barely above the armour plate.
Tracks have arrived so will get onto those next

Looking back on the earlier photos, it really was screaming out for some weathering

Added all the additional bits and pieces and applied the first couple of washes. Tried dot filters with oils for the first time and pretty happy with how that has fixed the overly dark shade the first wash created. Next up, chipping and the figures.

Yep it's the Tamiya Elefant in 1/35.
Realised I don't have a Sherman for a size comparison but here it is wth a 1/35 Achilles TD behind it.
