Prep wise just a quick wash of the parts before starting but based on the adhesion issues I had, should have spent more time in this.
I used Vallejo plastic putty for the gaps and Vallejo black primer.

Decals on and turrets installed. I like the clean look so will only do minor chipping and weathering and then the final clear coat and I'll call it done.
Next up will be the vehicles for the airfield.

Yeah must have been something along those lines. Using Tamiya tape and it's stripping off the top coat and the primer which is annoying. Have to take more care cleaning the parts next time

Had some paint adhesion issues for the first time in a long time, so back to re-spraying the top coat.
Didn't like the look of the tail decals so decided to paint it on instead. Turned out pretty well I think

Oils have dried an odd shade, so will come back to these at some stage.

The #heaviesgb Liberator has got paint on it now, inching ever closer to finishing it.
Spitfire has also had some live and that's done now. Got a ICM kit of RAF figures for an airfield scene so onto them next time I'm waiting for paint to dry.

Churchill MkIII AVRE Normandy 1944. AFV Club 1/35th scale.

Evening all. Finally finished my Churchill. It now looks like a tank that has been trundling around the villages and towns of Normandy.
I learned the gifts of patience and when to stop with this build and I have thoroughly enjoyed it.

Real life has gotten in the way the last week so have done sod all on the B24. Turrets are done, only a final coat on the ball turret to go and everything is masked and ready for the primer to go on.

Main build done (I think). Just the turrets to go and some seams to sort out, then I can can start wondering how I'm going to fit this into my paint booth 🤔

Interior is done now. Pretty basic as most of this will not been seen again.

Hoping to close up the fuselage and finish the main build this weekend. Then it's onto the turrets and the other clear parts.

The only other 4 engined aircraft I've made, Tamiyas 1/48 Lancaster.

After a month of procrastination, I'll be able to finish this one day right 😂

Decals today for the Spitfire today. Then it'll probably be put on hold for a few weeks.

Clearing the decks in preparation for the #heaviesgb starting tomorrow. My wife has just very helpfully asked where the completed liberator is going to go. Turns out the answer was not in her office.

Freehand Camo pattern. Wee bit of over spray so had to repaint the edges

Got given a bottle of Vallejo chipping medium. Did not play well with the Tamiya tape and what I thought was well dried layers.

Camouflage pattern done on my Spitfire. Practising my freehand airbrushing as I was to lazy to mask it. Turned out not half bad imo.
Lovely day so took the dogs for a walk on the beach between coats.

Inbetween working on the Grant/Dingo base, thought I'd make a start on the Tamiya Mk1 1/48 Spitfire. The carpet monster has already eaten one of the parts on the left exhaust so that was a great start haha🤦

Taking a break from the Dingo so I can finish the figures I'll need for the Grant/Dingo dio.
Trying to decide if the 3 riders look better on the back of the Grant or if I should have 1 guy beside the turret. Photos of both options. Any opinions gratefully accepted!
