I went to the movies yesterday. I won't say it was fun - but it sure was good!
Here's a spoiler-free review...

Kitsom had a weigh-in at the vet today and has reached the magic 5kg mark - huzzah!
The house smells of fresh baked bread and chicken stock. I've cast on a new pair of socks (2 at a time, toe up).
Despite everything in the world, life is good here.

This afternoon I was verbally abused by a downstairs neighbour for asking him to stop his drum practice while I'm trying to write/work.
Feeling pretty shaky, I decided to knit and Kitsom (bless her beautiful beans) came to help.
And people wonder why I like animals more than humans💜

Feeling better than I have in months, especially after visiting my favourite indie bookshop (Cracked & Spineless New & Used Books, Hobart TAS) and picking up some new reading material 💜

While the rest of the world seems to reel & falter, I've been grounded yet again by the wonder of the seasonal garden - this time the humble European prune plum. I dehydrated 2 huge jars, and today potted up Lekvar (jam) & savoury Spicy Plum Sauce
Putting food by for rainy days 💜

Wednesday night dinner for one omnivore version...
Tray bake of fresh zucchini, cauliflower florets, sweet potato slices, whole garlic cloves, sweet white onion and a few pieces of bacon 😋👌🥰

This morning, one huge pot of Passata, tonight 21 jars of tomato-y goodness to see us through until next summer 🥰

It's Passata day!
10kg of tomatoes, skinned and chopped with a ton of peeled garlic and more fresh herbs than I can recall 🥰

Yay!

This important part of my teens arrived in the post today and I couldn't be happier 🥰

I'm hard on socks, so tend to go for a reinforced heel. Tricky but worth the effort. I suggest looking up on YouTube. But I love this pattern🥰

Wednesday night dinner for one (vegan version) after a very busy day.
A bowl full of roast slices of homegrown zucchini, red onion, garlic cloves and shop-bought cauliflower. Topped with chilli flakes and a little sumac and served with homemade falafel = delicious! 🥰

The first bucket of prune plums, destined for the dehydrator, topped by a couple of ripe windfall apples. It's a lot of work, but I love late summer & autumn harvests 🥰

Apart from other things, I love spinning sheep and alpaca fleeces to make into garments.
This is my cat Kitsom, who also loves fleeces to the point of distraction. It's apparently triggered by the residual animal proteins in processed fleeces 🥰

This is truly terrifying...
