Absolutely not to say we don't welcome new voices - which we always need - but dear god its basic academic grounding to check if something has been said before. 9/10 times it has, and often its been said really well. There's so many niches left to explore, why not work on them?

I think its a real issue within game studies that we are constantly having a turnover of people coming into the field, contributing something (that has often been discussed previously) then leaving. The amount of times I've heard that 'no one is studying religion in games' is worrisome.

Of all the ways to do BDSM badly, making it appear chaste is uhhh, yeah. I mean, I don't mind when media makes it overly romantic, or sentimental - but chaste? Kinda feels like that goes against a lot of the great parts of it. Surely (delicious) transgression is one of the aims here, or am I crazy?
