It's funny, others describe it as fast and - in the underground sections - just like a subway. This is before TSP and 80km/h gets implemented in a few months

Darwin stuff, born, more Darwin stuff

09.02.2026 15:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I think of it more like this now. With interchanges so much better than before (like Dundas West tunnel to finally open this year) I use TTC+GO collectively now. I could even see using UP X to jump up to Mount Dennis - because I can - just like I use it to fastrack down to Union
09.02.2026 13:59 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If they'd get their signalling priority and vehicle speed to a reasonable (and by reasonable I mean pretty damn fast) level, we probably wouldn't care what they call it.
A 60-80km/h train even on the street with signal priority would make the whole venture satisfying.
Yes I did know they're in bed together. Interesting, though, that they decided to pull them from all the Loblaws-affiliated stores in my area. To your point even though my area, west end Toronto is pretty progressive (fair number of veggie restaurants), I wouldn't go so far as to say *very* veggie
01.02.2026 02:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Really? Interesting, I never see them anywhere around here - we don't have Superstores anywhere close by.

31.01.2026 18:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yeah but that "solidarity" as you're calling it is literally counterintuitive. You're protesting a country's political actions by hurting a different country - the very country that is standing against the same government that you are.
31.01.2026 16:17 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0For a time Loblaws (yes I know, we hate them) carried a PC version of Beyond Meat-style products. It was quite good, preferrable actually. And then it just disappeared. Either they decided the market wasn't exciting enough and didn't want to play the long game, or backroom deals were happening.
31.01.2026 16:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Our immigration/growth models need to be matched to inflation management. We target 2.0% for inflation for a reason. given that immigration can also impact inflation (clearly) should it also not be paired with inflation targets so that it doesn't unduly increase cost of living in a similar manner?
31.01.2026 16:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I support your sentiment, but it is pretty weird that you're choosing to punish your country for a foreign country's actions

Really I haven't cared for a long time, but I especially refuse to care now.

08.01.2026 19:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Which is why GDP can't be the only measure of wealth. Median income must be included. Look at Ireland, their GDP is very high but that's because it's distorted by corporate offshore parking, it doesn't translate to automatic personal wealth.
01.01.2026 13:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Exactly. The president and his team of a very successful financial services client of ours frequently take the subway from their main uptown offices downtown for events, dinners, all the fun stuff. Never a debate, it's just what you do. These guys have the bucks and chose this anyway.

22.12.2025 19:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0ALL countries were colonized. Canada is in a period of reconciliation (but you conveniently don't mention that). As messy as reconciliation is, it is moving forward. Who else is reconciling with its colonization? Britain? France? China? How far do you want to just throw narratives without solutions?
19.12.2025 20:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It's not a matter of questioning. You fail to articulate how exactly you intend for Canada to "pay" for colonizing countries it never colonized. It is a waste of my time discussing with someone who wants to name-call and not back up their arguments.
19.12.2025 01:51 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0"Don't be so hostile. Don't throw up 100% tariffs for Chinese carmakers" Don't know what you're trying to say. I'm not being hostile, just bringing practicality into the discussion. Tariffs against Chinese cars are legacy policies for the already messy relationship we have with China and America.
18.12.2025 20:36 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And therein lies the messiness. When was this colonization of country X? Was Canada actually part of it? Did Canada even exist? At what point are you planning to hold and not hold Canada responsible for policies it never created? You also never answered how this applies to China. And on and on.
18.12.2025 20:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0I don't totally ignore that legacy. But you vastly oversimplify what "dealing with it" actually means or even where the conversation would begin. How does your point even apply with trading with China? Canada never colonized India, both were created by colonization though differently.
