Life on a Monday in August may seem normal enough. And yet the reality is "We have a consolidating dictatorship in our country." I so appreicate @maddow.msnbc.com describing the simple reality clearly. It does us no good to pretend it's not real. The only question is what we do about it.

I missed this article the first time. It is a long but valuable read. Recent history has only made the case stronger.

Corruption. Over and over in plain sight. We need to call it what it is.

That may be the umbrella term that can describe all of the chaos under one message.

Stand with Ukraine flag.

I've called my senators, sent emails, voted, and joined marches. What else can we do to insist that the US govement supports #Ukraine who continues to be attacked by Russia. This is so unacceptable.

I am grieving the barbarism that is going to unfurl from all this. People are going to die. Livelihoods gone. All to feed a corrupt kleptocracy.

I see every day up close how different it is from the first time around. There are no guardrails. A disaster. I’m sorry we have to live through this.

I can feel millions screaming inside my mind. Or perhaps that is just me.

This is not my idea of a trustworthy and representative government.

This is what's in the bill.

Chocolate covered Cheetos ... said no one.

Chilling, especially when we know due process has not been followed.

Keep calling attention to this stuff, keep calling your elected officials (local and national), and vote with care!

Members of Congress may feel restricted by threats or fear - I get that.

But they asked for the job and took the oath. If they can't or won't do their job (for any reason), they should quit or be replaced.

We need leaders who will rise to the moment. I stand with those who do. Thank you.

#Handsoff in Seattle. ~15K showed up on Saturday. Speakers, sunshine, posters, and neighbors with a shared purpose. Also more protests in Olympia and multiple other cities and towns in Washington.
