I was indoctrinated by my Plymouth Brethren upbringing to watch for signs of the Antichrist. Even though my beliefs have changed drastically I’m feeling a bit triggered by Trump’s rants about voter ID. A number on the hand or forehead would be so…convenient. 😳🫣🫥

Imagine how you’d feel if the whole country FORGOT about YOU under these conditions? The entire state of Minnesota is being VIOLENTLY occupied by the federal government. Not just Minneapolis, but all over the state.

It’s important to keep the size of the MAGA movement in perspective. Same with ICE and other arms of the Trump regime. They act big and are loud enough to seem omnipresent. They do awful things to make splashes. But as tonight showed, they are terribly, terribly small. Don’t forget that.

Whatever vibe in the culture that was shifting right is dead. Over a hundred million Americans watched and enjoyed a Spanish language performance about love and family, and a tiny crowd of losers streamed a used up Kid Rock lip syncing 20 year old hits.

My brain is too muddled to sound sensible. Here’s a repost from someone profound I agree with.

I’m not asking for your forgiveness or absolution. If you’ve never had to change your mind because your opinions have always been righteous then you are incredibly lucky and I’m happy for you. If you can only stand in solidarity with those who’ve always been right you must be lonely.

I'm not sure Democrats in D.C. are aware that their base's rage against ICE has reached a level of blinding white-hot intensity.

They're worried about "looking weak" for voting "against law enforcement" when they should be worried a mob of housewives is going to come beat them to death if they do.

I should clarify that I was never MAGA or pro-Trump. Stopped voting GOP after Bush43 took us to war. But I still believed I had to vote 3rd party to be pro-life. Now I have become progressive in the AOC/Mamdami style. Also deconstructed and Exvangelical but follow Jesus.

But I had a 180 change of heart in my 50s thanks in part to following Rachel Held Evans on Twitter, so I have to hold on to hope for others. If I lose that hope there’s no point in continuing, IMO.

My parents both died being the “we have to support him because of abortion and Dems are evil” sort of Republicans. But it’s so encouraging to see folks like your dad have their eyes opened! I’m so very disappointed and angry at Christians. 1/2

There's a lot to do, and none of it is your sole responsibility, and not everyone is in a position to do every task.

But as Gandalf said of Merry and Pippin -- the falling of small stones can start an avalanche. So look for small opportunities to love your neighbors.

I think about this thread all the time.

"This fucking sucks" and "all is lost" are two different sentences.

The first is often true and necessary to acknowledge, the second is both false and demobilizing.

He’s actually retiring at the end of this term. We’re hoping to replace him with Roy Cooper, our former governor who was term-limited. Democrat, good guy, and very well-liked statewide…so I’m hoping!

This is exactly why I no longer get happy when he speaks up about an issue. Too many times I’ve emailed that man thanking him for standing with for democracy, only to receive a reply reiterating his firm support for Trump. 😒

I think it’s true that we occasionally pay directly to “ransom” packages sent from other countries. But many companies do just build it into their pricing.
