I haven’t checked on how many rail kilometers/miles of subway/metro/lightrail/street car lines exist in the US today but my hunch is that it is considerably less than at the height of the Interurban railways. To think that it all got torn down just for us to rebuild it 100 yrs later is bonkers!

OTOH, those of us who did raise infants (biological, surrogate or adopted) obviously relied on information sources that we each trusted: family members, close friends, childcare providers and experts in the community, and books that everyone else relied on.
