my closest friend group lovingly bully me for only playing xiv and i'm the type who will say "just play other games" to those who complain about xiv being "dead", but even i don't listen to my own advice. there's something that keeps me here and maybe it's hard to let go, but idk. i like it here

i don't fault those for taking a hiatus, quitting, or simply moving on for whatever reason. i'd follow and support them through their newest hyperfixation or creative output! at the end of the day, i think of xiv as a social outlet and a part of me will always be here if others are as well

there's also the glaring factor of me owning a xiv house, but really, it's the love for my ocs and the company of friends that keep me logged into this game. even if we don't do anything in game together, i can always be sure we have a shared safe space to yap together and stay connected

there were many times these past couple years where i struggled to play because a good portion of my friends/mutuals quit or lost interest. it made me think my own love was waning, but i was stubborn and kept at it and in turn, i befriended more people and it kept my passion and creativity alive
