To me it is crazy how little this is all appearing in the UK news. An occasional article but really nothing.
Definitely want to support keeping Minnesota in the news cycle here however I can.
Link back to the original thread - reposted the first one as I didn’t want to imply the fight was done

Fantastic piece on how collective action and care taking, led by Indigneous peoples, is challenging the federal occupation of Minnesota.
Both inspiring and humbling to see how people from all different backgrounds and walks of life have come together.

Completely take this point. Apologies. Will repost that first post.
08.02.2026 12:38 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0The occupation of MN has not been broken. The regime would like us to believe that narrative so we focus on something else. But it is still going on and still brutal.

08.02.2026 12:11 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I think it’s crucial we help people to see that, as the article says, change doesn’t happen because of grand gestures, but by widespread and committed action every day. It is a commitment to taking care of one another.
To invert an expression - when good people act, evil cannot triumph. 2/2
Over 40 years watching Welsh rugby and this is the bleakest I can remember it… even in the early 90s it felt like there was still hope of winning.

But the violence he endured last month in Minnesota while being detained is seared into his battered brain. He remembers Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents pulling him from a friend’s car on Jan. 8 outside a St. Paul shopping center and throwing him to the ground, handcuffing him, then punching him and striking his head with a steel baton. He remembers being dragged into an SUV and taken to a detention facility, where he said he was beaten again. He also remembers the emergency room and the intense pain from eight skull fractures and five life-threatening brain hemorrhages.
ICE told nurses this Minneapolis man “purposefully ran headfirst into a brick wall.”
What actually happened is that they pulled him from a car, beat him so viciously with a steel baton that he had 8 skull fractures, 5 life-threatening brain hemorrhages, and couldn’t remember he had a daughter.

NEW: A baby held in immigration detention became so sick, she had to be rushed to a hospital in severe respiratory distress.
“She was at the brink of dying,” a lawyer told me.
But the girl didn’t go home after her 10-day hospital stay; instead, ICE put her and her mother back in lock up at Dilley.
This looks amazing

I was just denied entry to the Dilley detention facility while my constituent, seven-year-old Diana, remains inside.
What kind of sick, horrific conditions are children being forced to endure in there?
I will be back tomorrow. Accountability can’t wait.
They’re trying to run the Kilmar Abrego Garcia playbook with a five year old boy in a bunny hat because nobody can find peace if they embarrass the Trump administration publicly. Normal people didn’t like it with Garcia and they really aren’t going to like it for Liam.
