This Heathen Land by Green Lung is a huge standout for me, a guy who doesn't gravitate toward doom. The last two Messa records as well.

Taken individually I'd be hard pressed to agree, BUT if you consider them as a double album, then it sweeps easily.

Hard to say, but they're one of my favorite modern punk acts. They had a song on Madden I think, were on Warped one year, and even won a Juno award, so there's been a few opportunities for big exposure. Plus they played like 300 shows in a year at one point which helps reach ears.
