Senators probably thought with all the terribly unqualified nominees that they could vote for Rubio who is actually qualified based on experience. They had to ignore a lot of the concerning things he said in the last few years though. Some of them just don’t want to say no to everything.

Do you go into interviews expecting the interviewer to prove you’re not qualified? Of course not. The burden is on the applicant/nominee. What qualifications does he have? None have been presented that I’m aware of. Like most of Trump’s nominees. You’re qualified if you’re a suck up

Nah, there are actual things that aren’t performative that people should consider.

I just do not understand why so many progressives want performative action so much. Especially when there are things to focus on that have real meaning. Did you notice the sale of public lands is no longer in the budget bill? That wasn’t an accident.

Seriously. Every day I see someone point out something terrible that happened and say something like, “why isn’t anyone insanely angry about this?!?” Like we should just be freaking out and burning shit (which wouldn’t actually address the problems in any kind of helpful way). It’s all so tiring
