Taste tested and I love it! Good bite of home! Fasolada is a cheap and delicious soup to make! See the above recipe. I was lucky enough to get all the ingredients at the food pantry.

If you have any cheap and easy dishes to share and make, a lotta people will need them. Share what you got.

Making this today. I’ll post pictures later. I got MOST of the ingredients from the food bank. So it should be generally easy access.

Fasolada (Greek white bean soup):

-Soak 1lb kidney beans over night, then boil and rinse
-Olive oil in pot, add 1-2 chopped red onion, garlic, carrots & celery (optional)
-Can of diced tomatoes/paste
-Salt & pepper, bay leaves
-Sit for a bit
-Add beans & water
-Simmer

That’s the basics!

Here's a tasty and affordable Greek recipe.

Fahkes (lentil soup)
-Precook 1 lb lentils
-Saute garlic & 2 red onions in olive oil
-Add carrots and celery (optional)
-Add lentils, 2 tbs tomato paste, & water to cover by ~1 inch.
-Salt, pepper, 2 bay leaves
-Simmer till lentils soft/thick.
