Just a weird neurodivergent lefty nerd trying to be a decent human being and make, modify & fix things. What kinda things? More or less anything. Art, models, games, cars, society. You know, things. He/him/his (mostly).

So I am working on something- and it's coming along really nicely, it's going to be fucking awesome- but it's part of A Thing that means I can't show it to anyone yet.

There will be a full process breakdown once it's done of course.

I just don't know what to post in the meantime.

I consider it a good day when I only have to boil the kettle once per cuppa...

Haha fair! Yeah, the Rivers were convoy escorts. Designed to defend convoys against submarines and aircraft attack (hence the depth charges & Bofors mounts) so the Navy could free up full size Destroyers for larger actions.

She's nice :) it's a cool bit of history. This machine killed fascists etc.

Is that a WW2 convoy escort? Looks smaller than most of the full sized destroyer classes I'm aware of.

Still super cool though :) do love an old boat!

Another mini on our list, not sure where it's from, it's A Horse.

That's it. Riderless horse from my friend's collection.

I honestly have no idea what kit this is from. None of the Warhammer Fantasy riders I have fit.

Any ideas?

So GW have released a big head add on pack & some of the heads can be interpreted as a bit fem.
Yay for those of us who are forever chasing such heads.
But seriously it once again shows how when stripped of artificial markers like make up, human heads are not that disparate & have a lot of overlap.

Would you mind reposting this with alt text? Do you know about alt text? I know a lot of people don't know what it is but it's a useful accessibility tool :)

A set of accessories for Firstborn Space Marines; shown are a pair of Dark Angels shoulder pauldrons, a Blood Angels head and three power armour backpacks of various types; L to R we have- I think- a Rogue Trader era plastic backpack with banner pole, an RT backpack with no banner pole and a 3E Space Marine backpack.

Another option in our library if you want to paint something old is this pair of metal Tactical Marines that I believe were originally released in either RT or 2E 40K- do any of you know which?

These can be supplied with RT Phobos or 3E Godwyn-pattern Bolters and I have a range of accessories too!

Look, right, so, I've never actually played BG3 (chronic case of no money whatsoever) but, I mean, I think Karlach is brilliant.

And this mini is gorgeous. Lovely work :)

I have to say, there's nothing quite like the experience of writing with a fountain pen.

I used to write out Yeats's "The Second Coming" from memory as an emotional regulation technique. I might start doing it again actually. I think having more reasons to practice my handwriting isn't a bad thing.

Given his description of the film's plot & characters, I was 100% unsurprised & have in fact been very surprised by the amount of praise I've seen lumped upon it from other people.

I think the first take on this film that I saw was from FD Signifier on YT, and it was pretty much the same as yours; he said it was excellent from a filmography perspective but it made him and his wife feel horrible and he regretted not walking out.

Captain Hat is just as much a thief as any 18th-century Royal Navy Captain, and in the same vein; it's literally part of his job to capture enemy ships and take their stuff.

Doyle is an Inquisitor, and has legal authority to requisition practically anything owned or made by anyone in the Imperium.

04.10.2025 20:17 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Garm has to steal in order to carry on existing. Practically everything about him (including to an extent his own body) is stolen.

Doyle and the Hat are in positions when where they do it it technically isn't usually stealing so much as either "requisitioning" or "capturing" respectively.

Tech people almost never seem to. Not sure why, some kind of brain disease they pass around at networking events?

Hat: Just once in all of eternity, do something that derails Fate. Even if it's tiny; have something go wrong, do something that doesn't matter. Escape Chekov's curse, if only for a second.

Doyle: successfully take a week off work.

Garm: Become recognised for who he is, not what he was built for.

Robots, you say? I have one or two! What flavour do you prefer? in stock I have a magic robot with a big hammer, a scratchbuild from when I was IIRC 14 or 15, a haunted robot piloted by the ghost of a space elf, and a scratch-built robot doggo.

Partial screenshot from World of Warships showing the chat box in the "Port" screen.

User "Hugh_Jaxident67" (nice user name btw), who was in a battleship (the ship class with the most hit points & thickest armour) is messaging me ("Captain_Hat") after a match in which I did a lot of damage to a lot of ships. This is the transcript:

Hugh_Jaxident67: Reported
Hugh_Jaxident67: Learn to target more than one ship
Hugh_Jaxident67: Blacklisted
Captain_Hat: Given that I did more damage to four other ships than I did to you, I'm not sure what your point is.
Captain_Hat: In fact I hit two other ships for more than twice as many hit points as you.
Captain_Hat: More than twice as many each, that is.

So this happened to me years ago but I still think about it. In itself it's a small, silly thing but I use it as a way to think about bigger things, and how our limited perception affects the way we feel.

If you're in a marginalised group you probably already get it.

This post is about politics.

honestly I've made a lot of posts where the majority of the useful information was actually in the alt text.

I don't know if I should be doing things that way, but it feels like the only way to accurately describe the image sometimes.

Honestly I've had to make a specific policy of not correcting people at this point because firstly a lot of people REALLY don't appreciate it and secondly if I corrected every mistake I saw I'd be doing nothing else all day.

Plus I do make typos myself from time to time.
