Used to know a guy on a forum who got sent down for something horrible on this axis and legitimately tried to claim in his defence that he was an advocate for womens' rights as if that should be taken as mitigation.

I do not understand the mindset behind that kind of delusion.

That's fair. For me you'd be right about most people but there are specific people whose presence or words can help. I've been trying to reconnect with specifically my tribe, if you will, which trends neurodivergent, nerdy and leftist.

What works for me isn't gonna be universal though.

I find one of the best ways to generate positive thoughts is by bouncing off other people.

I've been almost completely inactive on here for a while to give me more head space to deal with RL stuff and being in contact with friends has been huge.

Still miss some things & people here though.

100% important IMO. I try hard to post about the things I find difficult, though recently that's mostly been mental health problems & other stuff because I've not been well enough to paint.

I work to a standard not a timeline so how it manifests might be different for me but it's always there.

I got some really nice comments on a couple of my Gaslands builds from a car guy who found them by searching for car-related terms that were only ever in the alt text of the photos :)

In fact, my personal hot take is I'm starting to think that separate diagnoses for ADHD and autism (and other neurodivergent conditions) are not, in the long term, going to be possible to maintain.

I could be wrong, but the more I learn about them the more they feel like facets of the same thing.

This thread is all absolutely true and kind of important.

It's often hard to talk about neurodivergence because of how much ground it covers & how complex the topic is; and, also, because the majority of the people trusted to document it have not been and are not themselves neurodivergent.

This was Broadside Wargames show in Medway, Kent- organised by Milton Hundred Wargames Club. It's on every year & IMO well worth a visit if you're anywhere nearby.

Also, Dan Abnett is a really lovely guy, we had a really good conversation about the ways incidental detail can really sell a story :)
