Russia’s cards seem quite limited after all

They also associate science with holiness, so certain cultures also consider Odin (as the god of knowledge) as the patron of scientists.

Many Buyanski are super-religious, even as they hate theocracy as associated with the Terran oppressors.

Hence bonfires to burn their grudges as sacrifices to the gods.

It's showing that they trust in the gods' power, so they can safely move on, knowing their beloved gods will help them.

During Buyan's war of independence against Terran rule, many people exhibited a violent urge to satisfy revenge.

To prevent citizens from joining the mob violence all over the island, they are encouraged to vent out their anger in art, bonfires, prayers, meditation, and writing.

3. Both. Though not obsessively, many people on Jerde pray and do rituals, due to their religious upbringing.

It's also used as a form of catharsis, whether in elaborate rites, art, or burning objects to "commit them to the gods" and encourage people to face their fears.

On the other hand, in countries such as Buyan, science is promoted as a form of honouring the gods, because understanding the universe's functions leads to better decisions, to fulfill the gods' will.

Even scientists there pray to Svarog to bless their projects.

2. The gods sometimes intervene, but they usually tend to let events play out from the background.

Many characters actively believe in the gods in spite of being very advanced in science and tech, due to religion being a part of their identity.

For example, Chang Shong is Buddhist, but also prays to Vozonid gods, due to his country practicing Vozonid syncretism.

Paxoti and Radumo are Rodnovers, followers of Buyan's state religion worshipping Slavic deities.

My apologies, but I want to share the Wonao family system, in #Eosome language from Buyan:

taval - a family
bajatol - fam of 5+ kids
tōrukal - extended family
kōjol - a clan of 4+ families

J in Eosome is pronounced "y" as in "year".

In some cultures, like Heronoi and Arnadjanai, polyamoury is considered traditional. Some clans even consisted of a "nest" made of multiple consenting parents

This, along with their higher fertility than humans, led to replenishing populations after disasters

Mostly two parents and any number of kids, 1-3. Single parent households do exist, and many societies on Jerde protect them as vulnerable.

Generational homes are quite common due to cultural beliefs.

Although wives usually go to husbands, the opposite is acceptable.
