Bit of a fun account, like being a dons nuff, over analysing stuff. Probably a bit of cricket too, who knows. The worlds my oyster (it’s not)

He literally had to emphasise “physically” and didn’t click hahah

I would love to explore Redman up the ground. Those mercurial players like Day and Young started as half backs. I think he’d be good on the wing too. We’ve also got a player similar to him coming through the ranks 👀

Fantastic work on your latest video mate, in particular with Cox, your discussion around concussion was great, a lot of people don’t understand how much easier it is to get concussed after a concussion, and for ridiculous reasons. Well done

I hove the idea of Johnson on the half back or the wing!

Quite liked you on this Rohan, you day say you cop it for being negative but I can honestly tell the change in your tone, genuinely feel like we’re going in the right direction. But just have that natural pessimism like a normal dons supporter 😂

Yeah this was basically my point, said better! it’s more about the wing position than the forward position

I do want make it clear that it’s not that I want him out of the fwd line, I’ve loved him up there, just if we needed to move pieces and he went up the ground, I wanted be unhappy about it either. Probably stems from having more concerns around the other wing than our fwd line atm

Which should lead to more inside 50s, plus he has good defensive awareness and can drift back and help save goals. My view is that he can still have significant impact up the ground. 43 goals down to 20, but then makes that up through assists and involvements, then goals saved from Defense.

Hence why it’s is controversial, and even I understand it seems stupid. But I firmly believe he would still kick a few goals, maybe 20+. Then on top of that he’d have a lot more direct goal assists because he delivers inside 50 so well. His marking ability allows for that outlet kick on the wing

We didn’t have Wright for most of last year, and Stringer is replaced by Perkins

Controversial opinion, but I’d be happy to see Langford moved up the ground.
Tom Edwards plays a similar style to Langford. We can cover him, and I think people have forgotten just how good Langford was on the wing.
Langford was/is an exceptional kick going inside 50. Could be something

Always was a ridiculous argument. Think Hawthorn replaced 60 goals pretty easily in 2014… not like it’s a team sport, focussed on team performance

Looks like Tom Edwards made it an easy choice for Rosa and co.

Hope Baldwin stays on with our VFL, deserves another crack if he can prove his body is up to it. Worked tirelessly to get into this position, hoping for his sake his body repays him.

To your point, and Caldwells, we might achieve that 1 less by not having Jake.
We might achieve that one more by better ball movement that creates better entry that then creates better opportunity.

I much prefer the baseline you’ve presented, shows that, surprisingly to some, it’s a team game (!!)

I’ve always hated the “replace 40 goals argument”, but from Saturday its obvious to see how you can using the same line of thought.
Caddy kicks 30 (+21)
Kako 15 (+15)
Perkins 20 (+15)
That’s 51. There’s the answer they all want

My thinking was more based off us not getting a free agent in. I agree that we can’t have them both, neither are rucks that can go Forward. I know we are trying with Draper, but it feels a waste. It feels we’d prefer a Gerreyn type, and they are developing Visentini as that

14.01.2025 10:21 — 👍 2    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

This is a take that I think a few have, but if Draper goes I’m not too concerned. I like him and I’m happy for him to stay, but Crows probably throw more money than he’s worth at him and net us a good pick. Hopefully Bryan comes on, and we have developing rucks in Visentini and Gerreyn

LDU would be nice and everyone would want him, but North right now are VERY confident he’s staying (things can change)

I feel attacked, I did this yesterday haha but I did it because it’s a small car park, I was turning left and the park was on the left, so the only way to get a good angle was reverse

I’ve got huge props for the way Essendon has developed Elijah, and himself for his attitude. From school footy, his biggest knock was his kicking, but a bit of young bloke arrogance meant he didn’t care. Clearly had a rude shock coming into the system.
His attitude has clearly changed for the better

On this, considering his size and leg strength now, I’d love to see him become that big bodied mid we’ve been after. A real extractor from the source, as he does have great hands. And could use his explosiveness to breakaway at times. Would mean less kicking, but still need to be decent

Interesting chat from Simon Black on Brian (and Harrison) Taylor’s podcast.
They’re pretty hard on the kids these days that don’t want to move interstate and act like it’s a new issue.
Looks like it’s always happened

One thing that I’ve seen heaps now that just proves more that people don’t understand the role of the board is people saying let’s “see what he can do”. That’s the problem, boards are for governance, he’s not actively in there doing things like he would be in a footy ops role. Like people think

17.12.2024 09:59 — 👍 4    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

He presented himself well enough I thought, but I do agree. I’m more concerned by how much he led by. Footy fans clearly don’t know the role of a board, and annoyingly get so obsessed with having a “footy person” on the board

17.12.2024 09:09 — 👍 3    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

I think it is ridiculous that Paul Weston received more votes than Melissa Verner-Green. I won’t say what I really think it shows about our supporter base, but I will say it shows people haven’t done good research nor understand the role of a board

Very big on this. It just has that different feeling to it, that previous drafts, even when good, haven’t had. Just feels different

I’ve always been interested in seeing Redman as a mid, I thought maybe wing last year, but before that I thought he could play like a Will Day or Hayden Young type

I wonder what changed with taking Johnson instead of Day-Wicks? Was it just that at that point they knew they were essentially the last pick, but Johnson more likely to go in the rookie draft than Day-Wicks? Unbelievable result that they got who they wanted

Evolution is changing though, if it was clever puns, it would just be a headline in a different format. They both still do the same overall job of drawing in the consumer
