Maybe we shouldn’t let someone who doesn’t believe in germs and who thinks it’s okay to eat roadkill and swim in contaminated ponds be in charge of our national food safety.

Not like all laws are great but at least they get debated and edited. Trump’s EOs are just fucking screeds written by Stephen Miller. I don’t give a fuck what your preferences are that’s no way to run a nation.

My name is Josh Turek. I'm a two-time Paralympic gold medalist. I'm a proud State Legislator from Council Bluffs who represents the reddest seat held by a Democrat in Iowa.

And I'm the guy who's going to beat Joni Ernst. Repost this, give us a follow, and let’s win together.

the USA built a system of higher education so good that smart/rich people from across the world came here, spending billions to learn here, subsidizing education for Americans while spending money to live in our cities and towns. our government arbitrarily decided we should stop doing that

AMERICAN ECONOMIC ASSOCIATION
Committee on Economic Statistics and Committee on Government Relations

Statement from the American Economic Association on the
Dismissal of the BLS Commissioner

Leaders of the American Economic Association express their grave concern over the dismissal of the Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) earlier today.
The independence of the federal statistical agencies is essential to the proper functioning of a modern economy. Accurate, timely, and impartial statistics are the foundation upon which households, businesses, and policymakers make critical decisions. Undermining the independence or credibility of these agencies threatens the integrity of the information that markets, institutions, and the public rely on every day.
Measuring the vast and dynamic U.S. economy in real time is inherently challenging. It is standard practice for statistical estimates to be revised as more complete and higher-quality data become available. These revisions reflect the commitment of statistical agencies to accuracy, transparency, and methodological rigor-not failure or bias.
The BLS has long had a well-deserved reputation for professional excellence and nonpartisan integrity.
Safeguarding this tradition is vital for the continued health of the U.S. economy and public trust in our institutions.
We call upon elected officials to respect and preserve the independence of the nation's statistical infrastructure.

Sometimes I think about the fact that the longest-serving Republican Speaker of the House in US history, Dennis Hastert, was convicted of sexually abusing teenagers, and the media just totally memory-holed it and no one talks about it now. I meet lots of people who don't know this happened.

Each day, they could just discuss the details of one (1) former Republican who was arrested for sex trafficking, pedophilia, or some related scandal.

If they're going to shut down Congress for this, fill the silence with these news stories. Make it unavoidable.

Regulatory Relief for Certain Stationary Sources to Promote American Chemical Manufacturing Security By the President of the United States of America A Proclamation 1. The United States relies on a strong chemical manufacturing sector to support

The Trump admin just exempted over 100 chemical plants, sterilizers & coal facilities from Clean Air Act rules, rolling back protections that would’ve cut cancer risk by up to 96% for nearby communities.
