Untreated HIV on average can take I believe 10 years before becoming AIDS. So we’re still a few years away from something similar on a mass scale re: a comparable timeline. Should that terrifying possibility become reality—and the science isn’t reassuring it won’t—people may go into further denial.

Covid-19 aside, there are many other pathogens circulating that I’d rather not catch. With so many post-C19 immunocompromised people in the population, it’s easier for old, new, and novel diseases to gain a foothold and spread.

I imagine that I’ll be wearing a respirator for the rest of my life. 🤷🏼‍♀️
