I'm growing older but not up
We hadnโt won World War II by May 8th. I know because my family and I were still in an internment camp in Tule Lake, California.
03.05.2025 22:22 โ ๐ 31483 ๐ 6470 ๐ฌ 2219 ๐ 479I have gotten confirmation from sources inside the Coast Guard that this is in fact true and happened in Key West.
ICE went into military housing and took the spouse of a USCG member who is currently out to sea.
The Department of Government Efficiency, for example

If you wanted more waste, fraud, and abuse, you would fire them.
Him being on the same list as El Ghazi makes me nervous is all
17.02.2025 13:48 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I don't know if El Ghazi is a name I would want to compare Rashford to at this point. Someone who had so much talent, but could rarely turn it into a goal. Rashford deserved a goal with that free kick effort against Ipswich! I hope that doesn't become a regular thing...
17.02.2025 13:44 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Hell, how many of these were proposed under the previous Trump administration and were set aside to collect dust?
14.02.2025 19:25 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0How many of these GAO reports and cost cutting recommendations have been sitting in some representative's desk for the last decade?
14.02.2025 19:25 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Just got a tip from a guy at the FAA. You'll never believe who is still getting new government contracts while all the contracts at the Department of Education and USAID and other agencies are being nuked from orbit.

Just... Did they need to put the blurb over a picture of someone's truck to make it look like it was a bumper sticker in the wild, but then didn't even line it up properly? ๐
This is the most powerful form of protest. Never underestimate the power of sitting on your ass and doing nothing. The Broligarchs waging war on you can't survive without you. That's the irony. You make them possible.

07.02.2025 23:03 โ ๐ 26422 ๐ 6681 ๐ฌ 451 ๐ 249Not to mention OFA, the icebreakers, recruiting issues, etc all originated under past Commandants. She was given a shit hand and did the best she could with it.
I do not agree with much of how she handled OFA, but she should never have been treated like this.
The military doesn't kick actual criminals out of government housing this quickly.
07.02.2025 13:30 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Being fired from a command position is not the same as being kicked out of the military. It takes time and very specific requirements to remove someone from the service.
Often when people are "fired" from a specific job, they just end up hidden away somewhere else until they officially retire.
I've seen people continue to be paid AND housed on base for over a year while waiting to be processed out, but the Commandant couldn't have the 60 days that the Coast Guard gave her? This is someone intentionally trying to inflict pain for no reason.
07.02.2025 05:13 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Absolutely infuriating. We don't treat literal criminals being kicked out of the military like this.

You keep calling them musks underlings. Or lackeys or kids or unelected interns. Or any one of a hundred euphemisms.
"Twitlers youths" is right there.
You're probably right on that. Thanks for chatting and doing a bit of research to learn more about the Coast Guard than you did yesterday.
06.02.2025 19:15 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Not sure why having emotion is a problem. It doesn't negate the rationale for any of these points. I apologize for being able to empathize with someone else's pain.
06.02.2025 18:57 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Have you served with her? Do you have an idea of the type of person she is outside of the reactionary justification to firing her moments before she was supposed to be photographed with the president? Please, continue to believe that everyone else is overreacting.
06.02.2025 18:41 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I never said this was Trump. It's the political appointees and administration as a whole. Instead of letting the acting Commandant handle the situation, the administration decided that they knew better and chose to make a statement by making this as painful as possible. Completely unnecessary.
